The World Breastfeeding Trends Initiative (WBTi) is a global initiative that helps countries assess the status of policies and programs supporting breastfeeding and infant and young child feeding.
Developed by the International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN), the WBTi uses a set of 15 indicators to evaluate national progress and identify gaps in areas such as policy, programs, and practices. To date, over 100 countries have completed WBTi assessments, using the findings to strengthen action plans, promote accountability, and improve support for mothers and young children.
The WBTi report is a valuable tool to assist governments to target scarce resources more effectively. About 100 countries are already participating in the WBTi; the latest reports and details are available online at www.worldbreastfeedingtrends.org.
